Project Statement

You have been contracted to prepare the working drawings for a single family residence for a family of 5 with the following requirements:

​

  • The house is to be Energy Star compliant

  • The building is to be sited for active and passive solar gained and screened in summer

  • 2 story over finished basement with a separate 1st floor area for a grandmother who uses a wheelchair, attached garage and working fireplace

  • Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room

  • Master Bedroom with attached bath and walk-in closet on the 1st floor

  • Office = 400 SQ.FT. that faces south and that is private and quiet

  • 2 additional bedrooms - 1 for each child

  • Laundry room, 1st floor powder room and 1 additional full bath

  • Finished basement with utility room

  • 1 car (min) attached garage

  • Pitched roof
